Honest comparisons,
Six tools we get compared with, one matrix each. Every claim about the other tool links the public page it was read on — and every page says when the other tool is the right pick.
Pick the tool
Each comparison has a sibling page for the moment you have already decided to switch.
Both capture HTTPS on the iPhone itself with no desktop in the loop. The difference is what happens after the capture: one local app, or one feed a team and an AI agent share.
Charles has been the desktop debugging proxy for a generation of developers, and it has an iOS app too. Here is where a laptop-centred tool and a hosted, multi-device feed differ.
HTTP Toolkit made desktop interception a one-click affair and is open source. Busymate DevTools moves the capture onto the phone and the feed into the cloud.
mitmproxy is the tool many of us learned interception on — free, MIT-licensed, and endlessly scriptable in Python. This page is about what it is not trying to be.
Requestly started as a browser extension for rewriting requests and grew into a team API client. Busymate DevTools starts from the device. They overlap less than the category name suggests.
Fiddler Everywhere is the modern, cross-platform successor to Fiddler Classic, with session sharing and an MCP integration of its own. The difference is where the traffic lives.
How we
How were these comparisons made?
Every claim about another tool was read on that tool's own public product, pricing or documentation page on a stated date, and the page links the source next to the claim. Anything we could not confirm is marked as not verified — never as absent.
What is the difference between a comparison and an alternative page?
A comparison page assumes you are weighing both tools and answers the same questions for each. An alternative page assumes you have decided to move off the other tool and focuses on what carries over, what you give up, and how the switch works.
Do you recommend the other tool sometimes?
Yes, on every page. Each one has a section naming the cases where the other tool is the better call — a native desktop app, an open-source licence, a one-off perpetual seat, or targets an on-device mobile app cannot reach.
A fact on one of these pages is out of date — what do I do?
Tell us through the support page with a link to the competitor's current page, and we will correct the row and its verification date. We would rather be corrected than be wrong about someone else's product.

Follow the setup guide for your capture source, then open a request in the dashboard. HTTPS decryption requires certificate trust and a supported client.
